AUTHOR INTERVIEW

What are you currently reading?

the girl on the train by Paula Hawkins, I am enjoying it!!!

Do you have a favorite author? Who is it:

Oh my, I have a lot of favorite Authors 🙂

When did you start writing?

Right after high school!

Why do you write?

Because it’s good for the soul, and it comes easy for me. I have Cerebral Palsy so it is an outlet for me in a way.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your book?

Woman whom love romance and the mafia. 🙂 Men love my books too. I write true to life books and real issues.

If you could go back in time and meet one famous person or legend in history, who would it be? Why? What would you say to them?

Let’s see… Queen Elizabeth the first, why because she was cool and I would ask her all kinds of questions.

How did you come up with the idea for your book? Why did you want to write it?

It’s just came to me, I thought that a woman in today’s mafia was cool.

Tell us about your cover art. Who designed it? Why did you go with that particular image/artwork?

Dollar photo club, now closed. I just love the photo it sexy and yet romantic at the same time. 🙂

Who would you cast for the main characters if your book became a movie?

Oh my, I don’t know 🙂 Have to think about it!!!

How about an excerpt from your book meant to capture our imagination and make us want to read more?

EXCERPT

“Good morning beautiful.” Sitting behind the counter on a stool he watches Adaline finish cooking their breakfast. Putting the food on a plate she grins back at him.

“Did you sleep well, hun?” Adaline kisses Dayton on his cheek before handing him a plate and fork. “Would you like something to drink?”

“Sure. Whatcha got sexy?” Dayton asks biting into his bacon.

“There is orange juice or milk or water. Choose your weapon” Adaline grins at him.

“I will take some orange juice. Thank you.”

Adaline grabs him some orange juice and gives him his glass before sitting down next to him with her plate. The two of them eat their food speaking over things that go on in their lives while finishing their food. As they finish their food Dayton tells her that he has to leave for work soon.

“Would you like me to come over later or anything?” He asks her before kissing her on her cheek.

“If you want to, I have work until 7 tonight so anytime after that you can come by if you would like.” Adaline begins cleaning up their food and glasses.

“I will see you later then” Dayton leaves the house and begins his route to his house to change and get to work. Adaline finishes cleaning the kitchen then takes a shower getting ready to leave for a long day at work. Stepping out of the shower Adaline lets out a scream.

“Who the hell are you!” She screams wrapping her towel tighter around her naked body.

“That does not matter little lady, what matters is who you are and what you know.” The strange man sits at the end of her bed and looks at her expectantly. “Oh my apologies, you can get dressed I won’t look”

The man turns his head not looking at her as she grabs some clothes and throws them on quickly. She takes her time getting her clothes on looking around for a weapon she could use. Finding nothing she looks the man straight on.

MY REVIEW

Coffee Cup On Wood Table At Sunset Or Sunrise Beach

4 **** Good example of stream of consciousness style

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

I had never read a book by Alexandra Forry before so I was very excited to have a chance to discover a new author. And she doesn’t disappoint. She’s a got a fresh voice and a unique style, which required some getting used to on my part. I tend to get a bit grumpy when a story has grammar issues or typos. At first, I thought that was the case with the ARC I was given; but after a while I thought it’s just her style of writing and I respect an author who’s brave enough to break rules and conventions. After all, stream of consciousness writing is quite challenging.
Confessions of Us is a short read, mainly because you’ll be turning the pages, trying to understand what’s happening. The author did a good job with characters’ development; the plot is engaging, the setting is interesting, and the rhythm is fast. She also takes a great risk with an unconventional ending. I don’t write spoilers because I don’t like reading them so that’s all I’ll say about it.
I recommend this book for readers looking for a new author with a distinct style and a refreshing take on the contemporary romance genre.
