Doctor Bruna Cordeiro has dedicated her life to erasing hurtful memories, while spreading hope with Doctors Without Borders. Yet, she has never forgotten. When fate reunites Bruna with a Syrian family now turned refugees, she will help them settle in the new country. She still believes spreading hope is the best way to mend damaged souls. Until a broken smoke jumper proves her wrong.
Just because something is broken, it doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed.
Grab this story filled with superheroes, second chances, and heartbreak to find out how two imperfect people find their way through heartache to embrace what could be their chance at happily-ever-after.
Damaged is a prequel to the Embers Series. Although this is a standalone book, you will find more about Bruna and Drew’s story in Scarred – Book 1 in the Embers Series. Readers will also recognize characters from the Knight’s Edge Series (where Bruna Cordeiro first appeared) and the Carmel Coven Series making cameo appearances.
HOT SCENE ALERT – Excerpt from Damaged
Climbing the stairs two steps at a time, he rushed to the master bedroom at the end of the long corridor.
A sexy saxophone tune and the whiff of vanilla and cinnamon candles froze Drew a couple of feet short of the ajar door to his bedroom. He yanked it open and knitted his eyebrows, when he found out his girlfriend was alone. A wicked grin split his face. She had missed him probably as much as he had missed her.
Long legs sprawled on the bed, lush thighs pressed together and back bowing off the mattress, Jennifer Cortez was a delightful, sinful sight.
Stealthily approaching the bed, Drew stooped over her and pried her hands away from her crotch replacing them with his own. Jen’s eyelids flew open and she sat upright. She gasped and smiled, eyes losing focus as her head dropped over her shoulders. “Drew!”
He swooped down and latched his hungry lips on hers, drinking her whimpers. He loved to watch her come, but he longed to taste her mouth more. While he was fighting the wildfires in the middle of nowhere, all he thought about was getting out of there alive, getting back home to Jen.
Tasting her soft mouth made him hungrier, but their hungry kisses weren’t enough, so he abandoned her lips to swallow her nipple. Sucking at it at the same time he twisted the vibrator inside her folds to tap at her sweet spot did the trick and Jen’s body trembled.
She hissed, “Yes. More.”
“Glad to,” he agreed to her plea without hesitation.
Drew knelt on the mattress between her thighs and removed the dildo from Jen’s sex. It gripped the rubber cock with the same indignation that filled her voice when she demanded, “What the fuck are you doing?”
“Finishing the job.”
With a wink, he bent and licked her trembling flesh once. She moaned and flopped back on the mattress. He smiled against the soft skin of her thighs as he kissed them, his cock painfully hard inside his jeans, but he had a job to do before he could open his fly.
Sinking his fingers in her round thighs, Drew kept them apart as he molded his lips to her wet folds. He teased her clit with the tip of his tongue, swirling it around the hard nub. Then plunged it inside Jen’s gripping sex as he drank her pleasure.
She fisted her hands in his hair, clamped her thighs around his head, when he released her legs to cup her butt and angle her body. He went as deep as he could, while her body quivered around his mouth.
He gradually withdrew, but Jen was long gone, surely too busy riding the waves of her orgasms to complain. Her heavy eyelids dragged halfway upwards and her tongue swiped over her lower lip. She focused on his fingers as they undid the button and zipper of his jeans before sliding them down his thighs. He didn’t have time to get rid of his clothes. He needed to sink inside her warmth.
“I missed you,” he whispered in her ear when he covered her welcoming body with his frame.
