The sentence above holds immense wisdom to me.
That’s why on February 21, 2015, after reading Bethany Turner’s blog – find it here – and finding out about her Marquee Monday Project, where she dedicates her blog to promoting authors instead of herself, I decided to do something similar.
Lack of time prevented me from doing this sooner but when Rave Reviews Book Club successfully implemented this idea, and I took part in the initiative, I knew I had to make time to start giving a little back to those who have been helping me so much.
Luckily, my assignments during that first PAY IT FORWARD WEEK were among the most helpful of these people, hands-down, and I would have started my own initiative profiling them. Please check those blogs here: Nonnie Jules, Bethany Turner, Maureen Kovach, Nancy Bell, Joy LoBamijoko, and Michelle Abbott because they’re all talented and supportive writers.
Another great author and AMAZING person wasn’t in my list of assignments so I decided to start my GIVE BACK WEDNESDAY blogs with her, please welcome
HARMONY KENT
Harmony serves at Rave Reviews Book Club Governing Board and she describes her duties and herself so beautifully that I prefer to give you her own words:
“Hi, I’m HARMONY KENT! It seems that Nonnie and I realized our life-long dreams of being published authors, around the same time…in May of 2013. It must have been a creative month! To date, I’ve written three books: The Battle for Brisingamen, The Glade and Elemental Earth. As well as being an avid reader and writer, I also offer editing, proofreading, manuscript appraisal and beta reading services (all at discounted rates, in an effort to assist my fellow indie authors). I work hard to promote and protect high standards within the indie publishing arena, and am always on the lookout for talent and excellence and will freely promote any authors or books I feel have these attributes. I also offer reviews, and support indie authors and reader/reviewer bloggers on my blog, Facebook and Twitter. Joining Rave Reviews Book Club has given me a wonderful opportunity to take that wish to support even further. I am 41 yrs old, single and currently live in Cornwall, Southern England. I’ve only been in the county a few months, so I’m definitely still an interloper rather than a native. I am originally a Northern girl (as my snow blower in the garage proves; much to my neighbor’s amusement) – apparently, I’m not going to need it down here in the warmer climes. I’m so excited to be joining the Governing Board as Administrative Assistant, to help club Secretary, Marlena, lighten her load, in addition to serving as the Tweet Support Team Manager. I am delighted to have this opportunity to be a part of the club’s growth.”
In my personal interactions with Harmony, she has always been as her description above – uber supportive in so many ways I can’t begin to count, besides being extremely professional and reliable. I recently hired her to edit my book and she started working before the deadline she had given me and sent me an awesome, useful feedback very swiftly. Now I’m the one at fault because I haven’t had time to correct the text and send it back to her… SORRY AGAIN, HARMZ!! This time in public!!! LOL
This talented writer has published books in very different genres, including a fun and useful ‘how to’ guide for authors to improve their craft, which is another testimony to her skills. But don’t take only my word for that; go to her website to read the comments. While you’re visiting, be sure to check the extensive list of services for authors that Harmony offers.

Fantastic post Liz. I was thinking how wonderful it was to support other authors on Bethany’s Pay It Forward week too. Give back Wednesday is a fabulous idea. Love the post about Harmony.

Oh, Jan, I am laughing so hard about that snow blower! LOL 🙂 Thanks for your awesome plug of FINDING KATIE. My friend has fallen out with me, because she’s sleep deprived … due to not being able to put the book down, ha ha ha.
Liz is so fantastic for doing this post for me 🙂

Wow – the page is lit up like a Christmas Tree with the great and the good already! 😀
Kudos to you Liz for starting this on your own account – and Harmony… well I can’t really better anything said about your phenomenal work (except to say that everyone HAS to read FINDING KATIE!!! 🙂 ), but I CAN give you a little tip for your domestic life! lol
KEEP THAT SNOW BLOWER!!!
Although it’s true there’s rarely much snow in Kernow, when we DO get it (even down near the sea like you are 😉 ), if you live in the back of beyond then those little country lanes are the last to be cleared and the snow can stick around longer in those little nooks and crannies and especially around driveways – plus the ice factor is even worse with all the salt in the air… 😛
((((HUGSZ)))) for both of you

Glad you liked, Michelle. I’m also glad I featured you, Nonnie and the other awesome ladies last week or I’d be in trouble choosing with whom I should start this idea. hahaha 😀

Just a little thing, though… I consider last week as ‘giving back’ as well so that I can include Nonnie, you and all the other awesome RRBC members I profiled, ok? I couldn’t leave you all out!!
